We see them at air shows, or in the movies.
Military flight crew. ‘Mav’, ‘Goose’, ‘Ice’.
Impossibly young, vital, confident, easily accepting the adulation of we mortals, seemingly without a care. It took each of them two and a half years of intense training to get there. About 95% percent of those who commenced did not finish.
We marvel at their attire, the flight suits, G-suits, helmets.
The sky is their playground, their workplace, their field of dreams and duty.
We devour the jets.
So beautiful in their menace, so impractical for all things except their primal function.
We have formed Melbourne Jet Fighter with the aim of bringing, as far as practically possible, the journey and ethos of military high-performance aviation to those of us interested and enthralled by it.
Is a third-generation fighter jet trainer and light attack aircraft. Its high performance and dependability make it one of the most widely used types for this role world-wide.
A professionally edited, high definition video (with ATC and your intercom with the pilot accompanying it) of your experience is available at a cost of $295 for the Observer Flight and is included in the Candidate Flight.
Our pilots have been flying jet aircraft for at least ten years, some many more. Those conducting the Observer and Candidate flights are Air Transport Pilots, subject to competency checks twice yearly. Their backgrounds include airlines, military, corporate jets, and advanced training.

I couldn’t possibly do justice in words, to the experience MJF gave me, but I’ll try. SIMPLY MIND BLOWING! The single coolest and most exciting thing I’ve ever done. Ever.
Mike and his team made me feel like I was a fighter jock, and was actually about to have my first jet flight as a fighter pilot. Their process made me feel safe, secure and completely at ease.
The flight itself was something I could have only dreamt of. As an avid F1 fan, I look up every year and wonder what it would be like to be an F/A 18 pilot. Now I know.
If you have the means, I highly recommend you do. It’s the most wonderful thing I have ever done!
My experience with Melbourne Jet Fighter was simply breathtaking.
I was a little nervous about flying in a small jet, but the team at MJF made me feel totally at ease, taking me slowly through all the information I needed. Then, when we flew, we went gradually and I was never at any time worried or scared.
Just in awe of how good it felt, the view from the bubble canopy of Queenscliff and the heads, and the feeling of flying a fighter jet. It’s a must for everyone who ever wanted to know what it feels like to fly.
